1. I have a Dell inspriron n5010 and I want to upgrade the RAM. It currently has 3GB of RAM. It has a 2GB stick and a 1 GB stick. I was thinking that I would replace the 1 GB stick with this stick that I ordered. I am pretty sure it has all of the right specs with 204 pins, SO-DIMM DDR3, and 1333 speed rating. It says that the RAM is universal.
It is often a requirement that both sticks also have the same capacity, so you can't mix 4GB with 8GB in a bank (but you could do so between each bank). Usually slots A and C are a bank, and slots B and D are a bank. Within each bank, you cannot mix single/dual channel, different speeds, or different timings.

You can't mix ddr4 and ddr3. So not with what you have. You can mix different capacities and speeds of same generation. All ram would run at slowest speed though. Also your motherboard doesn't support ddr3 and you should check maximum amount of ram it can support.
There's no problem with mixing different memory sizes. The only thing to consider when mixing different RAM is the speed of ALL your RAM will be determined by the slowest stick. Also, make sure the RAM is compatible with your mobo, DDR3 vs DDR4.
There should have been an indent in the shell on both sides of the cover for grasping to open the cover." Junky007 said: "I also recently purchased the Aspire 5 A515-44-R4M5 which has 8GB Ram, one 4GB DDR4 (2666V) Ram chip soldered into the MB and one open slot with one 4GB DDR4 Ram chip.
DDR5 is the newest standard for memory modules on consumer PCs, coming to market in concert with Intel's 12th Generation Core processors (headed by the Core i9-12900K) and associated Z690-chipset
Add a Comment. Technically yes but just because everything isn't the same doesn't mean it will work. It just means it has a chance it'll work. If you bought these both at the exact same time you have a better chance of it working. Generally speaking you don't want to mix kits if you can help it. Yes that will work without a problem.
